Project Yellow

I’ve never participated in this sort of project before, but today I visited Anna Carson’s blog and decided to to join her Project Yellow.

This is the doorway at the end of the World Trade Center subway station in Lower Manhattan. These doors, temporarily covered with yellow tape marked Caution, Do Not Enter, used to open into 5 World Trade Center.

On September 11, 2001, I came out of the subway and was heading through these doors when I heard that there was some kind of a fire in the building. I should have just turned around and gone back home, but I didn’t.

These doors, no matter how many times I pass through them, still lead me back to that morning.

Wow, I can just imagine what that memory still does to you. We worked a trade show at the Con. ctr. just the week before everything broke loose. We worked with several of the firemen involved that fateful day, so I get feelings too.
Love your yellow post. Its fun to see things differently while looking for yellow.
Thanks for your kind words Anulla. This is a difficult time for everyone but we will keep going.

i was surprised to see you participating Annulla. But after reading the post, i guess i can see why you did.
i wish i knew what to say…………i dont want to grow cynical at the age of 26 but its terrible what man does to man. And i am amazed at all the “creative” ways humankind comes up with to destroy each other!!!!No wonder Mark Twain spoke thus: “Man is a Religious Animal. He is the only Religious Animal. He is the only animal that has the True Religion – several of them. He is the only animal that loves his neighbor as himself and cuts his throat if his theology isn’t straight. He has made a graveyard of the globe in trying his honest best to smooth his brother’s path to happiness and heaven.”………………..

  10. The picture of the doors leading to 5 world trade tower is a peaceful scene. It is a memorial to the souls that rested on that day. also the do not enter scene shows the effect that our enemies had on us. It almost depicts the biblical scene of God banishing Adam and Eve from the garden of Eden w don’t enter signs.

Luckily for my family, my cousin and his company got out of the twin towers. And he has two kids with his wife. So we are blessed. thanks for sharing your photo in the journey of your life.

Wonderful photo. So much meaning there with your story.

Is there a post you wrote about your experience that day? Or have you been able to do that?
